Yorkshire Treacle Tart Recipe |

| 8oz
shortcrust pastry |
1½oz
caster sugar |
| 1oz
fine breadcrumbs |
grated
nutmeg |

| Line
a plate with the pastry. Sprinkle half the crumbs on to it,
then add a layer of syrup and top with the rest of the crumbs.
The tart should not be more than half filled. Dot with small
pieces of butter. Using scraps left over from the pastry, make
a woven lattice over the filling. Bake in an oven until golden. |
