Apple Tartlets
Yorkshire Fruit Loaves Recipe
 
 
Ingredients
8oz butter 8oz currants
7oz sugar 2oz mixed peel
3 eggs, beaten 1¼ lb self-raising flour
2 tablespoons golden syrup ¼ pint of milk 
8oz sultanas ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Instructions
Cream the butter and sugar, add the beaten eggs, then the warmed syrup. Add the fruit, the the flour, alternating with milk in which the biocarbonate of soda has been dissolved. Pour into 2 large, greased loaf tins, and bake in a moderate oven for 1½ hours. This cake improves with keeping.
