Apple Tartlets
Yorkshire Fritters Recipe
 
 
Ingredients
1lb plain flour 4 tablespoons milk and water
2 teaspoons salt 30z currants
½ tablespoon sugar 30z raisins
20z butter 40z grated apple
½oz fresh yeast caster sugar
1 egg, beaten 5 fl oz sherry
Instructions
Sift the flour, salt and sugar together, rub in the butter. Mix in the beaten egg and the yeast dissolved in the milk and water. Knead, leave to rise, knock back. Work in the currants, raisins and apple. Divide into 24 round balls. Leave to prove, then deep fry in oil until golden brown. Drain, toss in caster sugar, sprinkle with warmed honey and serve.
