Apple Tartlets Recipe |

| 6oz
plain flour |
ground
cloves |
| 3oz
lard |
honey |
| ½
teaspoon of salt |
grated
cheese |

tablespoons milk |

| apples,
peeled & finely chopped |

| Make
shortcrust pastry with the milk, lard, salt and flour. Roll
it out thinly into 9 circles to fit into the tart tins, with
9 extra circles for lids. Fill the tart cases with chopped apple,
then sprinkle ground cloves over to taste. Add 1 teaspoon of
thin honey to each. Cover with grated cheese. Put on the pastry
lids, seal well and add small steam holes. Bake at 400ºF
(Gas mark 6) for about 25 minutes. |
