pearl barley, softened overnight |

of ground nutmeg |

| Fry
the onion and mince in the dripping. Season, add the nutmeg,
stock and herbs. Simmer for 40 minutes, add the brown sauce
and barley. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes. Serve on a dish
with a border of mashed potatoes. |
